Pay range - $27/hr- $30/hr

The Athletic Trainer will provide medical coverage for a very competitive local high school athletic program. They will be part of a Sports Medicine team that is responsible for assessing injured athletes and provide appropriate medical treatment. This position involves approximately half time providing athletic training services at the high school and half time in the office as a physical therapy aide in one of our outpatient locations assisting therapists with treatment and other physical therapy office operations. The successful candidate must have an upbeat, positive attitude, be able to multi-task, and be a self-starter. Ample training is provided.

This is a full-time position that comes with a full benefits package. Afternoons, evenings, and some weekends are required.

Certified Athletic Trainer Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will complete athletic training responsibilities for assigned school, in accordance with athletic training standing orders.
  • The duties of the ATC include, but are not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, and evaluation and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries.
  • Stays actively up to date with the current practices of athletic training through continuing education, in-services, and independent reading.
  • Coordinates practice/event coverage for the Athletic Department with the Athletic Director.
  • Document and track athletic injuries and treatments via the established documentation system.
  • Ensure athletic training room supplies are complete, maintain clean and neat treatment area.
  • The ATC will communicate with athletic administration, coaches, parents, primary care physicians, and specialists regarding injury diagnosis, treatment, injury trends, medical and health alerts, etc. as needed regarding specific athletes.
  • While working in the clinic, the ATC is responsible to supervise and monitor patients' responses/reactions to therapeutic exercise and conditioning programs while interacting and communicating effectively with patients, physical therapist, and other allied health professionals.

To qualify you must...

  • Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) athletic trainer with Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
  • NH & MA State licensed or license eligible athletic trainer.
  • CPR/AED certified.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to communicate both in person and in writing.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Ability to relate well to others in courteous, respectful, and supportive
